Sunday Sermon Message

Introduction

God reveals Himself not only through actions but through His name. In Scripture, names carry identity, authority, and purpose.

When God declared “I AM THAT I AM” to Moses, He revealed His eternal, self-existing nature. Centuries later, Jesus Christ boldly uses the same declaration to reveal His divine identity.

Key Truth: The “I AM” reveals a God who is eternal, sufficient, unchanging, and present in every believer’s life.

I. I AM THAT I AM – The Nature of God

Exodus 3:14

1

God is Self-Existing

God depends on nothing and no one for His existence. He simply is—eternal and uncreated.

2

God is Sufficient

He lacks nothing. Whatever we need is already found in Him.

3

God is Eternal

He exists outside time. Yesterday, today, and forever are all present before Him.

4

God is Unchanging

The same God who worked in the past is still working today without change or variation.

II. Jesus Christ and the “I AM”

John 8:58

“Before Abraham was, I AM.”

His Deity

Jesus declared Himself as God incarnate, not a created being or prophet alone.

His Authority

He commands with divine authority—over sin, nature, and death itself.

His Power

His miracles are not borrowed power; He Himself is the source of all power.

III. The “I AM” for Our Daily Lives

Christ revealed in practical ways

1. I AM the Door

John 10:9–10

Jesus is our access into salvation, blessings, and divine opportunities.

He opens what no one can shut.

2. I AM the Bread of Life

John 6:35

He satisfies every hunger—spiritual, emotional, and physical.

In Him we are never empty.

3. I AM the Good Shepherd

John 10:11

He leads, protects, and lays down His life for His people.

He never abandons His sheep.

Conclusion

The “I AM” is not distant or abstract. He is present, powerful, and personal.

He is everything we need—before we need it. He is not becoming; He already is.

Whatever you face, the “I AM” is already there with you.

Final Charge

Walk into every season with confidence that the eternal “I AM” goes before you.

He is your Door, your Bread, and your Shepherd—forever sufficient.
